Heritage Property Tax Rebate Application Form

Beginning in 2021, if you own an eligible commercial or industrial designated heritage property in the Town of Caledon, you can apply for a 40% property tax rebate of the Town and school board portion of your taxes regulated by the Town's Heritage Property Rebate By-law. 

Eligibility
  1. Your property is individually designated under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act or is part of a heritage conservation district under Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act

  2. Your property is classified in the commercial or industrial property tax class under the Assessment Act

  3. Your property has not received a Town of Caledon designated heritage property grant for the taxation year

  4. You enter into a heritage easement agreement with the Town under section 22 or 37 of the Ontario Heritage Act
     

Before you start, make sure you have the following:
  1. Your (applicant) contact information, including name, address, phone number and email address
  2. Property information such as registered owner name, address, and assessment roll number
  3. A digital copy of the Certificate of Insurance for the property
  4. Current digital photograph for each elevation of the building(s) and or feature(s) (north, south, east and west) including the date the photgraphs were taken. Please use the following naming convention for each photograph: Photo#ElevationYYYYMMDD (ex. Photo1North20210115)
Applications must be received by the last day of February for a rebate in the previous taxation year.
