FILL PERMIT GENERAL INFORMATION


The first step in the fill permit application process includes submitting the necessary information for the applicant (and/or property owner) and hauler.This application is authorized by By-law No. 2007-59. Only complete applications that include all information and items requested will be accepted and reviewed by the Town.

To complete the form, you will need to have the following documents with you:
  • Legal survey of the property.
  • Location map of the property in relation to major intersections.
  • 2 copies of a Site Plan showing existing and proposed alteration to the grade of the land certified by an Ontario Land Surveyor or other qualified person.
  • Cross section plan of the proposed work.
  • Reports as recommended and certified from a qualified person that the fill being imported does not exceed the maximum contaminant levels as set out in the Environmental Protection Act.
  • Letter of credit, in accordance with the Town’s Fill and Fees By-law –refer to Schedule “C” of this form upon review of this application.
  • An administration fee is mandatory prior to review of the application. Contact enforcement@caledon.ca
  • Owner’s authorization if “Applicant” is not the Owner.
Please note: Attachments are required to be uploaded through the online form and the total size of all attachments is restricted to a maximum 20 MB in size. If your submission exceeds 20 MB, request access to the Town of Caledon's FTP site to apply. Please call Municipal Law Enforcement at 905-584-2272 x. 2366, or email us at enforcement@caledon.ca to further discuss this option.

The form should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. You cannot save the form while you are in the process of completing it. The form will begin to time-out after 10 minutes. There is a warning and you are able to extend the time.

SCHEDULE “C” TO BY-LAW No. 2017-79


The following Site Alteration Permit Fees are in effect as of January 1, 2018 by Town Council.

For Calculated Site Alteration Volumes for up to 10,000 m³:
1.1 Site Alteration Application Fee (non-refundable) = $510.00
1.2 Additional Fee based on calculated site alteration volume = $2.00/m³
1.3 Commencement of Fill without a permit = $200.00
1.4 Section 7.11 a letter of credit is provided in the amount of $2.00 per cubic metre to secure any costs incurred by the Town of Caledon in regard to obtaining compliance with any conditions outlined in a Fill Permit issued on a subject property.
