2022 Property Tax Relief Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) Plan Application Form

Do you have an outstanding tax balance from 2020 and/or 2021 and want a monthly plan to bring your account current over 2022?

The 2022 Property Tax Relief Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) Plan will bring your property taxes up to date by December 31, 2022. To provide with assistance in the recovery from the economic effects from the COVID-19 pandemic, all penalty and interest charges will be waived from the date of approval for this program until December 31, 2022 (provided the required payments are honoured).

To enroll you must be the Property Owner with tax arrears dating no earlier than March 2020 and accept the Terms and Conditions as set out below by completing this application. This program is open to all property tax classes.

Terms & Conditions
  1. The maximum term of this Application is 1 year (January to December 2022). The required payment amounts will be determined by the Town and will include property tax arrears accumulated beginning March 2020, any applicable penalties and interest, and estimated 2022 property taxes.

  2. PAP withdrawals will start on either the first of the fifteenth day of each month as chosen by the Property Owner and will  continue on a monthly basis for the term of this Application.

  3. The Town reserves the right to recalculate the monthly payments during the term to reflect any changes in assessment value or property tax rates.

  4. The Property Owner can make additional payments or a lump sum payment on their account at any time.

  5. In the event that two consecutive monthly payments are not paid in full as as required by this Application, those outstanding amounts must be paid in full on or before the first or fifteenth day of the third month or the Property Owner will be deemed to be in default of this Application. Property owners in default will be removed from the program and have penalty and interest charges reinstated on a go forward basis.

  6. If a payment is not met for any reason, the Property Owner will be subject to a finance charge and applicable penalties - all amounts will be added to their property tax account.

  7. Payments made under this plan will be applied to the outstanding account balance in accordance with the Municipal Act, 2001.

  8. Late payment charges, penalties and interest will not be applied in 2022 to the outstanding property tax arrears as long as monthly payments are paid in full.

  9. In the event that the Property Owner wishes to terminate this Application or if their banking information has changed, the Property Owner must notify the Town of Caledon Tax Department in writing at least 30 days prior to the next payment.

  10. Once the Property Owner's tax arrears have been paid in full and their account is current, this Application will automatically be converted to the Town's regular monthly PAP Plan unless the Property Owner terminates this Application in writing.
